Biographical Information
Dr. Inge B. Corless is Professor in the Graduate Program in Nursing and has been a Fellow of the American Academy of Nursing since 1983. Dr. Corless left the University of Michigan where she had been researching the hospice movment to co-found St Peters Hospice in Albany, New York, and was a member of the first board of directors of the New York State Hospice Association. Thereafter, Dr. Corless was appointed a Robert Wood Johnson Clinical Scholar at the University of California San Francisco. At the MGH Institute of Health Professions, Dr. Corless and her colleague Dr. Patrice Nicholas, received grant funding from the Bureau of Health Professionsto establish an HIV/AIDS specialization for nurse practitioners. That certificate program continues today in a distance- learning format. Dr. Corless has been a member of the UCSF International HIV/AIDS Nursing Research Network since its' inception.
