Dr. Bourgeois joined the Institute of Health Professions as a full time faculty member in January 2008, following several years as an Adjunct faculty member. She is a board certified clinical specialist in Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Physical Therapy.
Her teaching responsibilities in the Entry level Program include Fundamentals of Physical Therapist Practice, Clinical Seminar I and II, Evaluation and Management of Patients with Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Dysfunction as well as Comprehensive Case. She also advises a group of students for their Health Promotion project.
Dr. Bourgeois is an active member of the American Physical Therapy Association. She was a member of the faculty who provided training in the use of the Guide to Physical Therapist Practice. She continues to serve as an Item Writer in the development of exam materials for specialist certification examinations administered by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties (ABPTS).
Dr. Bourgeois continues to practice clinically in Pulmonary Rehabilitation at Massachusetts General Hospital. Her leisure pursuits include many outdoor sport activities, gardening, and training Golden Retrievers to compete in Agility and Obedience Trials.
