Biographical Information
Dr. Beninato hails from New York (but she's not a Yankees fan). She earned her undergraduate degree at Quinnipiac College in Connecticut. After several clinical positions she returned to graduate school at the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond where she earned her PhD in anatomy with a concentration in neuroscience. Dr. Beninato's teaching committments include the neuroscience component of the entry level and post-professional curriculum and she is also teaches gross anatomy in the entry level program. The anatomy and neuroscience courses taught by Dr Beninato include cadaver dissection and examination of human nervous tissue. Additionally, she advises students in research projects in the postprofessional program and in health promotion projects in the entry level program. She is a Research Associate at Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital as well as an active Neurology section APTA member. She also holds an appointment at the Massachusetts General Hospital where she practices physical therapy in the area of acute care neurology.
